Elephanta Caves

The Elephanta Caves are located on Elephanta Island, which can be reached by a boat ride from the Gateway of India in Mumbai. The boat ride takes about 1 hour each way, offering beautiful views of the Mumbai coastline. Most Mumbai Darshan Bus tours include the boat ride, but it’s best to confirm at booking. Once on the island, visitors typically spend 2-3 hours exploring the caves, with additional opportunities to enjoy scenic walking trails and browse small souvenir shops.
